THE SCIENCE OF HYPOTHERMIC PRESERVATION
1. At 37°C (Mammalian body temperature) cells are metabolically active with a fluid membrane

2. As temperature decreases (hypothermia), cells enter a state of hibernation but are susceptible to membrane damage and subsequent death

3. Atelerix's gels stabilise cell membrane integrity and allows samples to be held at room or refrigerated temperature for extended periods
