Atelerix is pleased to announce the appointment of Caltag as a new distributor of Atelerix products in the UK, expanding access to our preservation technologies for researchers across academia, biotechnology and pharmaceutical research.
Established in 2001 and based in Buckingham, Caltag is a specialist life sciences distributor supporting researchers with a broad portfolio of reagents, biological materials and laboratory technologies.
The company combines scientific product expertise with UK-based technical and customer support, helping researchers identify and source technologies suited to their individual applications.
Expanding access to Atelerix technologies in the UK
The new partnership will make it easier for UK researchers to access the Atelerix product portfolio through an established local distributor.
Atelerix technologies enable the preservation and transport of fresh biological materials without conventional cryogenic handling, helping laboratories simplify logistics and reduce some of the time and variability associated with moving sensitive biological samples between locations.
The Atelerix portfolio supports a range of biological materials and workflows, including cells, whole blood, tissues, organoids, spheroids and other complex biological models.
Products available through the Atelerix portfolio include WellReady™, BloodReady™, CytoStor™, LeukoStor™, TissueReady™, TissueReady PLUS™ and STORganoid™.
Scientific support as well as supply
For Atelerix, an important part of developing its distributor network is ensuring researchers have access not simply to products, but to knowledgeable scientific support when evaluating preservation technologies for their own workflows.
Dr Sarah Marsh, Product Specialist and Channel Manager at Atelerix, commented:
“For us, choosing the right distributor is about much more than getting products onto a catalogue. Our technologies are often used to solve very specific scientific and logistical challenges, so customers need access to people who understand the science behind them. Caltag has that technical knowledge, a strong reputation within the UK life sciences community and a genuinely supportive approach to its customers. We’re really looking forward to working with their team and making Atelerix technologies more accessible to researchers across the UK.”
“At Caltag, we’re always on the lookout for innovative, niche products that offer researchers practical solutions to common challenges, improve experimental outcomes or introduce new ways of working. With Atelerix, we found all three.Their patented alginate hydrogel technology enables researchers to extend the shelf life of their biological samples, reducing time constraints and logistical barriers, all without compromising viability. When we visited the Atelerix team at their office in Newcastle, their passion and the potential for this technology to make a real difference in the scientific community were clear. We’re excited to build a strong partnership and better serve the researchers across the UK, providing more access to Atelerix’s product range.”
Caltag works with scientists across academic, biotech and pharmaceutical organisations and has built its offering around specialist life science products backed by responsive technical support.
That combination of scientific expertise, established UK customer relationships and experience supporting specialist biological products makes Caltag a strong addition to the growing Atelerix distributor network.
A growing distribution network
The appointment forms part of Atelerix’s continued development of its distribution network, improving local access to preservation technologies while giving researchers the option of working with established suppliers in their own markets.
UK customers can now source Atelerix products and discuss their requirements directly with Caltag, alongside the existing support available from the Atelerix team.
Whether you are looking to simplify the transport of fresh biological material, introduce greater flexibility into experimental schedules or assess a preservation approach for a particular cell, tissue or model, speak to Caltag or Atelerix to discuss the most appropriate option for your workflow.
