We’re Finalists (Twice!) at the Medilink Healthcare Business Awards 2025

We’re thrilled to share some seriously good news: Atelerix has been shortlisted not once, but twice for the Medilink Healthcare Business Awards 2025! We’re in the running for both the Start-Up Award and the Sustainability Award - a double whammy we’re incredibly proud of.

These awards are a big deal in the healthcare innovation space. The Start-Up Award celebrates young companies shaking up the industry with fresh thinking and serious potential. The Sustainability Award, on the other hand, gives a high five to businesses baking environmental responsibility into the heart of what they do.

We’ve had quite the year at Atelerix. Our tech - which lets you store and transport living cells and tissues at room temperature - is changing the game. By ditching the cold chain, we’re slashing environmental impact and making advanced therapies more accessible to labs and clinics around the world. It’s sustainability and science in a beautifully gelled package (quite literally).

“Two nominations and no ice required.”

Our CEO, Alastair Carrington, put it best:

We’re chuffed to bits! The past year’s been a rocket ride – new partnerships, exciting growth, and a laser focus on sustainability. Getting nods for both Start-Up and Sustainability is a real moment for our team (and proof that storing cells without a freezer can be seriously cool).”

“Changing the world, one ambient shipment at a time.”

Our CSO and Co-founder, Dr Steve Swioklo, also had a few words:

“When we kicked things off, we weren’t just aiming to keep cells alive at room temp – we wanted to stir things up in the biotech world. Being shortlisted in both categories is a lovely reminder that meaningful change and bold science do get noticed. We’re just getting started.”

Winners will be revealed on 8th May 2025 at the Medilink North of England Healthcare Business Awards in Manchester. Wish us luck – and if you're going, come say hi (we’ll be the ones not carrying dry ice).
